Orange Tree 'Washington Navel' - Grafted
Orange Tree 'Washington Navel' — The Classic Backyard Orange, Grafted
Washington Navel is the orange everyone recognises — sweet, seedless, easy to peel, and absolutely reliable. It's been the benchmark backyard orange in Australia for generations and remains the go-to variety for good reason: consistent flavour, excellent size, and a tree that performs predictably year after year.
All our Washington Navels are grafted — faster fruiting, more consistent production, and better disease resistance than seedling trees.

Frequently Asked Questions
When does it fruit?
Main harvest is June through September in SEQ. The cooler winter months bring out the best colour and flavour in the fruit.
Is it the same as a navel orange from the supermarket?
The variety is the same — but homegrown, tree-ripened Navel oranges are significantly sweeter and more flavourful than commercially picked fruit. There's no comparison.
How long until it fruits?
A grafted 45L tree may produce fruit in its first full season. A 100L specimen may fruit immediately after planting. Smaller plants typically take 1–2 years.
