Lime Tree 'Tahitian' - Grafted

Lime Tree 'Tahitian' — The Bartender's Lime, Grafted and Ready to Produce

Tahitian is the lime you want. Large, juicy, virtually seedless, and available almost year-round — it's the lime behind every good G&T, every fresh guacamole, and every Thai dish worth eating. It thrives in Brisbane's subtropical climate and produces prolifically once established.

All our Tahitian limes are grafted — faster fruiting, stronger vigour, and more consistent production than seedling trees.

Why You'll Love It

  • Prolific producer — one of the heaviest-cropping citrus varieties available
  • Large, juicy fruit — bigger and juicier than most lime varieties
  • Virtually seedless — clean, easy to use in the kitchen and bar
  • Near year-round production — reliable crops across multiple seasons
  • Grafted for performance — fruits earlier and more consistently
  • Thrives in SEQ — loves Brisbane's warmth and humidity

Available Sizes

  • 300mm Pot — established grafted plant, strong root development
  • 100L Bag — mature specimen, significant production potential from planting

Growth & Conditions

  • Mature height: 3–5m (manageable with regular pruning)
  • Sunlight: Full sun — essential for heavy fruiting
  • Soil: Well-drained; sensitive to waterlogging
  • Watering: Regular and consistent — drought stress affects fruit quality
  • Fertilising: Citrus fertiliser 3–4 times per year
  • Climate: Excellent performer in SEQ — prefers warm conditions

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it different from a regular lime?
Yes — Tahitian (also called Persian lime) is larger, juicier, and virtually seedless compared to the smaller Kaffir or native finger lime. It's the commercial lime variety used in hospitality and the most practical choice for home use.

When does it fruit?
Main harvest is typically winter through spring in SEQ, but a healthy established tree will produce across multiple periods throughout the year.

Can I grow it in a pot?
Yes, in a large container (60L minimum). Needs more frequent feeding and watering in pots than in the ground.

Locally supplied and acclimatised to South East Queensland conditions. Need it installed? Key Co Landscapes offers professional tree installation across SEQ.
